You can get in contact with me via my contact form, email, or my Facebook page (the link is at the bottom of this page). Once we've worked out the details of your shoot, I will send over a proposal with a contract and deposit form which are completed online. I require a deposit and contract to hold any date - your session does not go on my calendar until I've received both a signed contract and deposit. My schedule varies, but I almost always aim to shoot in the the late afternoon/early evening, as that's when the lighting will be best for your shoot. Make sure to contact me with as much notice as possible (especially if you need a weekend date) as I am frequently booked solid 1-2 months out.
When should I contact the Photographer to schedule the shoot?
I shoot family photo sessions outdoors only and I book Family Sessions between the months of May and November. I announce my availability in the Spring of every year and they book on a first come first serve basis.

What can I expect at my shoot?
To have fun! I try to keep my sessions as lighthearted and comfortable as possible. If you're scheduling a family, maternity, engagement shoot, it will take place outdoors (unless you request a studio session) and most likely within the two hours before sunset since that is when the light is best. Before your shoot we will discuss locations and I will answer any questions you have about what to wear or bring to your session. During the shoot, we will walk around whatever location we've decided on and I will ask you to interact with your family, and also pose you for some more traditional family photos. Please be on time to your session - if you are late, it will cut into your session time and you may not receive as many images as are in your package. If you are more than thirty minutes late, I will consider the session cancelled - your deposit will be forfeited and you will need to schedule another session date.
Where will the session be located?
This is something we will decide at least 1 week prior to the scheduled shoot date. The location will be chosen based on time of day, lighting at the location and sunset.
What do I wear?
Your photos will look best if you're comfortable and relaxed! If your outfit isn't something you would ever wear normally or if you don't feel confident in it, trust me, it will show! Try not to be too matchy with the rest of your group. Staying in the same color family, or picking a few colors that compliment each other will look great. Patterns are okay, as long as they're not too loud and don't clash with the rest of your group's outfits. Pay attention to accessories and shoes. Leave hair ties at home or in your pocket. Make sure to bring wipes for children's faces and hands in case they get dirty during the shoot. If your session has a cake smash in it, please plan accordingly in terms of how to clean your child after the shoot and an outfit to take them home in.
What is your canncellation/rescheduling policy?
I understand that plans change and emergencies happen, so if you need to reschedule or cancel your shoot, please give me as much notice as possible and I will always try my hardest to work with you. My policy allows for one rescheduling to occur before a new retainer fee is required. Please keep in mind that retainers to reserve your date are non-refundable.
How far will you travel?
I primarily shoot in the Springfield-Branson area, but I travel to Ozark, Joplin and MO counties for a travel fee.
What should I bring to my shoot?
That's up to you! I'm happy to shoot you doing things you love, so feel free to bring your favorite books, your child's favorite toys, bubbles, flower crowns, or whatever you like. I allow up to two outfit changes for some types of shoots, just make sure there is somewhere to change during your session and keep in mind that changing time will cut into your session time which means less shooting time. I have a wide assortment of props and backdrops, but if you have something particular in mind, go ahead and bring it. I can always make it work.
Do you always post a sneak peek preview, or do I get an option? What if I want to keep my photos private?
Every client gets the option of having a sneak peek preview or not. Unless you say otherwise, I will post a public sneak peek preview on my facebook page within a day or so of your session.
How many images can I expect to receive?

Where should I print my photos?
While many of my packages come with a print release, I always recommend ordering prints through me. The quality of professional prints cannot be duplicated at consumer photo printing establishments. Consumer photo labs are cheaper because they frequently alter the appearance of images, making them appear over saturated, ruining skin tones and colors, and not displaying your beautiful photos at their best. All of my prints come from an excellent professional lab and the color of the prints are always crystal clear and perfectly matched.
Why is custom photography so expensive? No different than a mechanic, dentist, doctor, or electrician. But a personal photographer often becomes a friend, someone who documents a family for generations with professional, personal photographs of cherished memories. Maybe if you look at it this way: A pair of scissors costs $1.50 at the drugstore. Still, most people will gladly pay a lot more to hire a professional hair dresser to cut their hair. The added attention and quality that a personal photographer gives is worth every penny.
Do you offer a payment plan? I believe that everyone deserves quality portraits to pass on down through their family. So yes! I do offer a payment plan. We can discuss this more at your pre session consultation if this is something you are interested in.

How many images do we receive from our session? When it comes to the amount of images she capture, it truly depends on the number of details to photograph and how many family groupings we put together. Diane Lee | Fashion & Lifestyle Photography retains complete control over the image selection and editing process (no, we won’t give you the RAW files). This is to ensure the final products delivered to all clients are representative of my work. In other words, there will be images taken where eyes are closed as well as as others that won’t make it through the culling process.
How long until we see the photos? Takes the time to fully edit each individual image, so editing times range from 2-3 weeks.
How does your ordering process work? I narrow down my session to your unedited images for you to choose up to 100 images then I will edit 15-30 images on one of those sessions for you to order from. I then will email you a link for a private online viewing gallery OR you can schedule an in-person ordering session which is available for 7 days (there is a $75 convenience fee for each week if you need more time).
