Thanks!) HELLO FANS & FRIENDS
I wanted to announce this after the holidays… but with the calendar now booking up into next summer, it’s best that everyone have a fair chance to book sessions. 2014… I am taking our hours way down for the studio at my home. I will ONLY be working on Thursday to Sunday mornings and afternoons. Yes, you read that right. There is no simpler way to explain, other than we both have small child and second baby of twins (unborn), one under the age of 2…Yes I am having a second baby of twins and feel the need to spend more time with our baby, pets & husband. A minor health scare earlier this year also opened my eyes… and watching my child grow soooooo quickly had spooked me a bit. I never want to look back and say… “geesh, I missed out”. Like I often say, I am photographer because I LOVE what I do… not for a paycheck at the end of the day. I work art & passion of the lens because it brings me joy to give to other people… everyone should have the privilege of beautiful images of their children. With that being said… we also have to FIRST be mothers & wives… and friends, siblings, daughters. And the time we spend in studio is just 1/2 of the process… every session has another side, hours of editing, contacting, etc. So many times I find myself grinding away at the keyboard, meticulously editing images, and scheduling/contacting emails, vs a snuggle, a walk to the park, or attending a school function. And that is not good enough for me. Breaking down our working hours to FOUR (4) day a week will allow us to FIRST be mothers… and still enjoy our photographic journey, and the clients we have come to adore, and many call friends. With that being said… my purpose by sharing this now vs later… if you would like to book a session in 2014… please email me ASAP. This includes newborns… we will only take 5 newborn sessions per month. Some months have already filled up, and others are close to booked. Again, Im sorry but I will not waiver on our schedule: THURSDAYS: 9:30am – 3pm FRIDAYS: 9:30am - 3pm SATURDAYS: 9:30am - 3pm SUNDAYS: 9:30 - 3pm January and February are available to book your session! OF COURSE… if you need a session outside of these times, we have a handful of referrals to share. Please keep in mind that all photographers are priced differently, some are sessions fees & prints, some are all inclusive… these are all price ourselves according to our own terms. THANK YOU EVERYONE THROUGH THE YEARS!!! I love, adore & swoon over all the little faces that have met and fancied our lens… and hope to see so many of you next year! Thank you esp for understanding… as mothers ourselves, WE need to do what is best for our own babies (and sanity lol). I AM NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS… just slowing things down to bring some smiles into our own homes.
![]() Sessions normally last from 1-3 hours based on the type of session booked. After the session, we post a quick sneak peek online so that you can see a sample of what we saw when you were being photographed. All images are then processed and you come into the studio for your ordering session where you will watch a slideshow of all your images and then choose your favorites. We walk you through every step of the ordering process and suggest products or print sizes based on the image and specific needs of the client. Custom gallery wraps, framed wall portraits, albums and jewelry are all included in our product line-up. EACH AND EVERY image that you order is gone over with a fine-tooth comb and retouched to remove blemishes, soften lines or wrinkles, whiten teeth when needed and blending or removing stray hair. You also receive a low-resolution file for Facebook, instagram, snap-chat, etc. FREE for every image you order. I realize this is all a lot to take in so I've made a chart to show the differences in Mini-sessions vs. Custom sessions. I hope this helps clear up any questions you may have when deciding on which type of session to book. Whichever sessions you choose, you can be assured that we take every aspect of your session into consideration ... From posing to lighting ... You will still receive the Diane Lee Photography It might help you to understand what is the Retainer Fee means... The correct term is actually retainer fee instead deposit or booking fee
Retainer Fee? Sometimes also referred to as a “Deposit” or “Booking Fee”, the correct term is actually retainer fee, and it refers to an agreed sum of money paid to secure the services of a professional for an agreed upon time-frame. Retainer Fees are Standard in Photography A retainer fee may be a new concept when you’ve just started looking into hiring a professional photographer, but the practice is standard in the photography industry. Other Professions that use Retainers You are probably already familiar with the retainer fee, as it often conjures up the image of a lawyer, the result of cultural training arising from movies or TV shows with lawyers as the major characters. Of course, with lawyers, even retainer fees can get really complicated with flavors like “security”, “advanced fee” and “evergreen” retainer fees. However, for the sake of argument, I would like to point out that a number of other professions retainer fees. Here’s a short list: Doctors – certain doctors who practice “Boutique Medicine” use retainers Bankers – their retainers are upfront fees charged to clients, even if “the deal” eventually doesn’t go through Freelancers – software engineers, web designers, copywriters, consultants and such all use retainers of some sort, allowing them to pay the bills while working on and waiting on assignments What Does it Mean when someone is Retained? Once you’ve retained a service professional (by paying the fee, and signing a contract), you are officially BOOKED, and that professional would take him or herself “off the market”, so to speak, meaning they would not make it known that they are seeking work in a particular time-frame. Unfortunately due to increasing cancellations Diane Lee Photography will be starting this practice towards the new year. With Diane Lee Photography, once the retainer and signed agreement is turned in, I would then be unavailable to anyone who inquires about your date/time. Why Non-Refundable? Consider this: if the retainer fee was refundable, and for some reason the client decides “at the last minute” to request the money back — perhaps the session was canceled for some reason — then the professional photographer would have no income for the previously agreed upon date. If this were to happen several times, you can be sure the professional photographer would soon no longer be in business. To Summarize By Paying the Retainer Fee: You are paying for my promise to come shoot your session. I will turn down other potential assignments for your date/time You understand that if your session is canceled (or rescheduled), the retainer will not be refunded Exception: The only time that a professional might refund the fee is if something unforeseen occurs and he or she cannot carry out the promise to work. In my case, if I were incapacitated, I would be obligated to return all funds, including the retainer. (This is spelled out in the contract we sign when you book.) |
